City of Dalton

Some of the local festivals include the Prater's Mill Country Fair, Tunnel Hill Civil War Battlefield Reenactment, Celtic Festival in Tunnel Hill, and the CAG Fine Arts Festival. There are a number of historic sites and monuments in Dalton that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The list includes the Blunt House, the Confederate Cemetery and Monument, Crown Gardens and Archives and the Dalton Depot. The Wink Theater, built in 1937, is one of Dalton's historic landmarks.

According to 2000 Census, the City of Dalton had a population of 27,912 persons. Between 1990 and 2000, the city experienced a population increase of 25.6%, compared to the state growth during this period of 26.4%.
